SVdP Nativity of Mary Conference Bulletin Article for Annual Feast Day Celebration
FEAST DAY: On Friday September 27 the Nativity of Mary Conference of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SVdP) celebrates the feast day of our patron saint. Our Conference is one of 14 Conferences in this Archdiocese. We are celebrating our 4 th year as a Conference. We had our annual dinner on Friday and will have our Friends of the Poor Walk on October 5. The Walk is at St Bonaventure Church, Bloomington. Registration begins at 9:00 AM and the Walk starts at 10:00 AM. After the one mile walk a free lunch will be provided along with a raffle to win some really cool prizes. Please join us. Also, this weekend we will have members at information tables at the Church entrances after
the Masses to explain our ministry to you and answer any questions you may have. Please take a minute after Mass to chat with our members. We would love to tell you more about this outstanding ministry.
OUR MINISTRY:
What is SVdP? It is the world’s largest lay organization; and was established in this Archdiocese in 1856 to serve the Catholic Church and its parishes. Our mission is to help members grow in personal holiness and to serve those in need in our parish community and the broader areas of Bloomington, Richfield, South Minneapolis and Burnsville. We believe one
of the fundamental missions of the Church is to serve those in need-to bring them food, housing and love. As Pope Francis says when we serve our sisters and brothers in need we see the face of Jesus Christ.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Thank you for all of your prayers and support. Nativity of Mary has
been so good in supporting this ministry. The lifeblood of this organization is its volunteers. They serve in the monthly free food events, home visits and participate in the life of the Conference.
We pray, serve, and grow in personal holiness. Please consider supporting SVdP through volunteering. The need is growing. For more information check out our website at christopher.dietzen. If you or someone you know needs
assistance please call us at 952-767-5521 and leave a message. One of our volunteers will return your call.
Also, we need your financial support to continue our free food events and home visits. All of the support goes to the ministry. We have no paid staff or volunteers. SVdP, Nativity of Mary Conference is a 501c(3) tax exempt organization so your contributions are tax deductible. If you are interested in making a tax deductible contribution please make checks payable to SVDP,
Nativity of Mary Conference and leave at the parish office.
